Ramp Building Projects
Each year the Fenton Rotary Club uses moneys from our fund raisers and local personal & corporate sponsors to assist local families with the construction of handicap ramps to help with accessibility needs. Our club usually completes two to three ramp projects annually.
The Fenton Rotary Club identifies local residents that are confined to their homes and are in need of an accessible route. Club members field the conditions, design a ramp plan that satisfies the residents’ needs, meets code and then secure materials. They then hit the jobsite with tools and volunteers to construct a fully accessible ramp for those in need.
Brad Alvord is the chairman of the Fenton Rotary’s Community Service committee and he is instrumental in making this program a success.
For the last 8 years the club has worked together to construct over 14-wheel chair accessible ramps for individuals in the community. Our recent ramp was supported through a grant through the Home Depot Foundation.
